If your company desires to film in beaches or coastal areas included in the area of responsibility of the coast administration [Demarcación de Costas], you must request a permit from A Coruña’s coast administration office [Oficina de la Demarcación de Costas de A Coruña].

For requesting your filming permit, you will be required to submit a dossier including:

• Requested zone + description of the activity to be carried out (please indicate if you need to install any technical elements in the coastal area, such as lighting props, cranes, etc.).
• The days and times when the activity will be carried out.
• Contact details.
• A copy of a demarcation map indicating the requested area (you must request this map at the coast administration office).

Once your request is filed, the competent authorities will issue a receipt for the administrative fee of approximately 92€, which will cover the cost of initiating the proceeding.  After reviewing your application, the coast administration will issue a communication authorizing/denying your request.

Deadline – It is recommended to request the permit around 30 calendar days prior to the filming.

In addition to requesting a permit from A Coruña’s coast administration, the production company must consult with the Film Office whether or not any of the requested beaches or coastal areas within the city belong are of the responsibility of A Coruña’s city council. Please note that the San Pedro islands have been declared a Space of Natural Interest –any activity to be carried out on the islands is subject to the regulations stipulated by the applicable conservation plan [Plan de Conservación], which can be consulted (with a municipal authorization) at Servicio de Medio Ambiente.
